Ugh, I hate New Kids on the Block. There was a group of girls who dressed in polka dots one day out of the week with all their NKOTB buttons and such and I watch them disdainfully. I did always feel like the odd man out. I was pretty much the only girl who didn't like them.
What a loser, Kim. I was the obsessd girl that on the day of the concerts, I'd skip school and go to the stadium and spend all day, hoping to catch a glimpse of them. I met their caterer, took pictures of their buses(they were probably inside, scared to come out)and whatever else I could get into. Wait, whose the loser?
Kim was probably the gal who liked listening to The Cure or Depeche Mode in the corner of the gym, making evil eyes at all the girls who swooned over New Kids. It's ok, Kim, you would be called an "emo" these days. Just before I turned 13 I turned into one too. I mean I didn't dye my hair black or call my parents by their first name (no that was college...) but I did hate everything preppie - including New Kids! O, the lovely teenage years, so glad those days are GONE!
LOVED The Cure and Depeche Mode. Didn't dye my hair black (mom and dad said "no") and I tried calling them by their first names when I was in 10th grade and I didn't do that ever again. Lots of black eye liner. Lots of black shirts. When Quinn was teaching at Shades was the first time I heard the word "Emo" and I loved that music, too. Ginger. You are unbelievable. That is so funny. I would've pointed and laughed at you.
Ginger, that picture of you is stunning. I love it. Just had to tell you that because you were lamenting over the pictures of you that Jessica took. Girl you are beautiful, inside and out!
It was good to meet you at the bazaar. The only concert I have ever been to til this day is New Kids on the Block. That's really sad. But, I LOVED them.
Yes, Kim I was always wearing my t-shirt too but I also loved all the other cool music.
Okay, my friends, you're all making me feel very old. New Kids on the Block? I was a married adult when they were causing all your hearts to throb (everyone except Kim's, that is.)! And who are The Cure and Depeche Mode? And what the heck does "emo" mean? Am I deceiving myself thinking I'm "hip" or what?
